INNSBRUCK, MAY 1, 2025 – The second day of the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival delivered both sporting highlights and cultural experiences. Austria’s National Mountain Running Championships culminated with a finish on the Nordkette – TOP OF INNSBRUCK – alongside the national U20 Trail Classic Championships. The evening featured a spectacular outdoor film screening that left the audience in awe.

AUSTRIAN U20 MOUNTAIN RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND SPORTLER VERTICAL SHORT
The Thursday morning program began with the Sportler Vertical Short and the Austrian National Mountain Running Championships for the U20 and Masters 60+ categories, starting from Hungerburg. At exactly 10:00 AM, the elite mountain runners began their ascent. In an incredible time of 55:04 minutes, JOHANNES UNTERASINGER (Union Raika Compedal Thal-Assling) claimed the national championship title. “I know the course very well, but it was tougher than I expected. Still, it was my first race of the season and I’m very happy with my first gold medal at the Austrian Championships,” said the East Tyrolean. FABIAN HENNERBICHLER followed in second, and TOBIAS JUNGWIRTH completed the podium in third. “I’m really happy I won. Mountain running is my favorite discipline at the moment. Today was very challenging, especially toward the end when it got really hot,” said FABIOLA FORTSCHEGGER, just 17 years old, who won the women’s race in 1:04:46, becoming Austrian national champion. YLVA THALHAMMER came in second with 1:06:50. Participants of the Sportler Vertical Short started alongside the championship runners. REINHARD HURTH crossed the finish line on the Seegrube first overall with an impressive time of 52:44.

The next wave of competition began at 11:00 AM on the square in front of the Tiroler Landestheater. The 7.5 km course with 1,330 meters of elevation gain led to a breathtaking finish atop the Nordkette – TOP OF INNSBRUCK. The – again – Austrian champion, HANS-PETER INNERHOFER (LC Oberpinzgau), completed the race in 53:52 minutes. In the women’s category, reigning world champion of 2023 ANDREA MAYR became yet again National Austrian champion, winning in 1:01:38. “This was a very special national championship. You can feel the size of this event everywhere. And honestly, if I could design my ideal course, it would look exactly like this one,” said the seven-time world and five-time European champion. Second place went to JULIUS OTT from Graz, narrowly ahead of JOHANNES NUSSBAUMER (EXCITINGFIT-RUNNINGTEAM). In the women’s category, AMELIE MUSS (LCAV Jodl Packaging) earned her first silver medal, while ISABELLE SPEER took third.

AUSTRIAN TRAIL CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS U18/U20 & THE YOUNG TALENTS RACES
Der Donnerstag war geprägt von Premieren, dazu zählte auch das Young Talents Race. Noch nie hat es in Österreich einen Nachwuchslauf im Trailrunning für der Alterklasse von 14 bis 22 Jahren gegeben. Zudem wurden die Österreichischen Meisterschaften im Trail Classic in den Klassen U18 und U20 ausgetragen. Das Young Talents Race ist zudem Teil des ÖLV Trail Youngsters Cup. 7,3 Kilometer mit 250 Höhenmeter gab es um 15:00 Uhr zu überwinden und das mit großem Erfolg! Bei der Gesamtwertung dominierte der Österreicher Philipp Koch in 29:56 MINUTEN bei den Herren. Die Silbermedaille holte sich der Australier GEORGE KNIGHT und Platz Drei ging an FABIAN HENNERBICHLER. Bei den Frauen lief ELENA KOLLER den Sieg ein. Mit einer Minute Abstand folgt die Schweizerin FIONA NUNIGE in 38:56 MINUTEN und die Bronzemedaille ging an EMMA HAINZER. EUROPEAN OUTDOOR FILM TOUR Passend zu unserer Jubiläumsedition gab es am Abend, um 20:00 Uhr ein ganz spezielles IATF x EOFT Film Special. Vier Filme voller Action, Abenteuer und Nervenkitzel erwarteten die Zuseher*innen. Das alles unter freiem Sternenhimmel bei sommerlichen Temperaturen.
