‘In 2025, the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival will take place for the 10th time – a reason to celebrate and a testament to the fact that it has long since secured a permanent spot in the sports calendar of Innsbruck and many running enthusiasts.
Trail running has increasingly developed into a trend sport that excites both young and old, professionals and hobby athletes alike. It’s no wonder—trail running uniquely combines physical challenge and a nature experience, and there’s no place more beautiful for it than here in the Alps: The mountains guarantee demanding and diverse running routes with spectacular views.
For the 10th anniversary, the Laufwerkstatt, as the organizer of this kick-off event of the trail running season, has come up with something special – both on the trails and in the accompanying program. Festival vibes are therefore guaranteed!’

‘Concentration, endurance, sensitivity, hard training and much more is required in trail running – an enormously versatile discipline that rightly captivates sports enthusiasts. At the “Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival” the best of the best of the trail running scene meet to compete on spectacular trails around the Alpine metropolis Innsbruck. Thus, Tyrol and its provincial capital prove once again that they belong to the absolute Mecca for hosting top-class sporting events. Not only the unique mountain landscape, but also the hospitality of the Tyrolean people have become famous beyond the Tyrolean borders. I would therefore like to express my gratitude for the organization of this great event and wish all athletes, but also all fans, an exciting and successful competition!’

‘Tyrol offers the best conditions for being the venue of such a top-class sporting event as the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival – because in addition to the sporting challenge, participants can expect a multifaceted trail with a colorful mix of city and mountains: starting from Innsbruck’s old town, the runners head up into the mountains via varied field and hiking trails. In this way, both urban and alpine images of the provincial capital are carried out into the world, which makes me very proud as a tourism provincial councilor. Through the many overnight stays of athletes as well as their families and friends during the festival, the event also contributes significantly to the tourism in Innsbruck. Sincere thanks are due to the organizing team and the many hardworking hands that make this event possible. I wish all participants all the best and an accident-free run.’

The Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival creates the perfect connection between city and mountain – directly from the urban centre up the alpine paths and trails.
‘With the course lengths offering different levels of intensity, every runner will find something to suit them and have the perfect opportunity to push themselves to their personal limits. What is particularly appealing is that the hotspots at special points along the course offer the public an attractive opportunity to be there live and support the athletes up close. The additional EXPO rounds off Austria’s biggest trail running event as the highlight of the supporting programme.
Finally, I would like to wish all the athletes an injury-free and successful participation, the audience exciting entertainment and the organisation team a smooth course and, above all, good weather.
I’m already looking forward to an attractive all-round package at the highest level!’

‘We are honoured to welcome the trailrunning community once again as being a vital part of the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival. The event has become a cornerstone of anybody’s trailrunning season. And for good reason, because the alpine-urban character of the Innsbruck region is the ideal venue for competitions in this literally nature-oriented trend sport. We have fantastic courses that range from the historic old town of Innsbruck to fantastic mountain scenery such as the Nordkette or the Kalkkögel. This unique combination of urban and alpine features makes our region a very special place for any runner. In addition, Innsbruck with its variety of pubs, restaurants and accommodations offers the perfect infrastructure for such an event. It guarantees, together with various side events and an outstanding expo, that participants, accompanying friends and family and guests of the IATF will feel at home here. I wish the athletes all the best and hope that they can enjoy our unique trails between urban flair and alpine panorama.’

‘As one of the host communities of this festival, we are proud that such a sporting event with an incalculable number of participations organizes the start of runs even within its own municipal boundaries. As a trained tourist, I can confirm that our region is ideally suited for such a varied and sustainable event, where the unique and intact nature forms the backdrop. Particularly noteworthy is the possibility at the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival that the active can choose their own personal route with different lengths and profiles. To the organizers, I wish the participants success, fun and perseverance for the race.’

‘When participants from all over the world lace up their running shoes at the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival at the beginning of May, young and old can expect an incomparable Alpine panorama paired with the flair of the cities of Innsbruck and Hall in Tyrol. Starting from the provincial capital, the athletes will also explore parts of the Hall-Wattens region and the town of Hall while running. I am very happy that we can do our part in this great event to make this festival an unforgettable experience for everyone.
The Adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival has been an excellently organized running event for many years. I am particularly impressed by the fact that amateur athletes as well as professional athletes compete and indulge their passion on the different difficult and long routes. It is nice to see that mountain and cross-country running is becoming more and more popular. When such beautiful and impressive routes await the starters, sporting achievements and panoramic views will make for perfect pictures and memories.
A big thank you to the organizing team and the many helpers for their commitment to the Adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival. I wish all participants every success, that they achieve their athletic goals and that there is also time and opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty and hospitality.’

‘Trail running is an increasingly popular sport. Exploring the mountains and the city on a run is sustainable. The organisers of Austria’s largest trail running event also attach great importance to sustainability in other ways: bringing refillable drinking cups instead of handing out paper cups, recommendations for getting to the event…
Innsbruck is alpine, urban and smart and that also means sustainable – that’s how we describe our city. Thanks to our experience with major events, we also have an international reputation as a sports city. The Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival is therefore a good fit for us, as it fulfils our expectations perfectly.’

‘We are delighted to welcome the trail running community to Innsbruck once again as part of the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival. The event, which is the prelude to the Mountain and Trail Running World Championships in Innsbruck and Stubai taking place just a few days later, has now become a fixed date in the scene. And for good reason, as our region with its alpine-urban character is the ideal venue for competitions in this trend sport that is literally close to nature. We have fantastic routes that range from the historic city centre of Innsbruck to dreamlike mountain worlds such as the Nordkette or the Kalkkögeln.
