RECORDS & RACING FOR THE ANNIVERSARY: 7,000 PARTICIPANTS, 14 RACES, 10 YEARS OF INNSBRUCK ALPINE
INNSBRUCK, APRIL 25 2025 – The wait is almost over: The starting gun for the 10-year anniversary edition of the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival is about to fire! From April 30 to May 3, 2025, the event will expand to four days, once again turning Innsbruck into a hotspot of the international trail running scene.
THE NEXT BIG MILESTONE FOR LAUFWERKSTATT
Milestone after milestone: Following the successful World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in 2023, the Innsbruck Alpine now celebrates its 10th anniversary – and fittingly, this year’s festival is breaking several records: 7,000 participants from 70 nations, the premiere of the Austrian (National) Championships in Trail and Mountain Running, a youth race for 14 to 22-year-olds, and more races than ever before. This year’s motto? Bigger, more spectacular, and one of a kind!
DIVERSE COURSES FOR ALL LEVELS OF RUNNERS
A total of 14 challenging races with distances ranging from 5 to 110 kilometers are on this year’s program. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned ultra-runner – there’s a suitable challenge for every fitness level. The routes lead through the stunning mountain landscapes of Tyrol, along the Nordkette range and through historic sites like the old town of Hall in Tirol. Technical trails, fast flowy sections, and breathtaking views ensure an intense and unforgettable trail running experience.
PREMIERES, NEW RACES & COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
The K7 is the classic kickoff race for the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival weekend. Whether as a shakeout run or a warm-up before Saturday’s races – you won’t want to miss the K7!
Additionally, the Austrian (National) Championships in Mountain Running will be presented in the formats Sportler Vertical (VTC) and Sportler Vertical Short (VTC-S) – in a setting that’s hard to beat. Also premiering in Austria is the Young Talents Race for runners aged 14 to 22. All of these races will take place on Thursday, May 1.
One of the standout highlights is the legendary midnight start of the K110 “Masters of Innsbruck” and K85 “Heart of the Alps Ultra” at 00:00 from Friday night into Saturday. Early Saturday morning, the K65 “Panorama Ultra Trail” and the K42 “Trail Marathon” follow. Later in the day, the K35 “Discovery Race”, K25 “Trail Half Marathon”, and the K15 “Rookie Trailrun” take place. The Austrian Championships Trail Classic will also be held within the K15.
CHEERING BUS
The IATF isn’t just for runners – there’s plenty for fans and supporters too. With the exclusive Cheering Bus service, fans can conveniently reach selected hotspots along the route to cheer on and support the athletes up close. Stops include prominent aid stations along the course.
LIVESTREAM
For those who can’t attend in person, the Innsbruck Alpine offers a livestream to provide exciting coverage of the races. Viewers can expect: live footage of race leaders, stunning aerial shots, expert commentary, and on-the-ground reporting from Innsbruck.
On Saturday, May 3, the stream begins at 9:45 AM, showcasing the breathtaking scenery of Innsbruck to the world. As a mass participation event, organizers will also broadcast all finishers live starting at 2:45 PM.
EXPO, SIDE EVENTS & HIGHLIGHTS
