Areas of employment

You make the difference! Whether at the aid station or as a course marshal, as a volunteer you’re right in the middle of the action. Are you curious about what goes on behind the scenes and motivated to be part of it rather than just watching from the sidelines? Then you’re in exactly the right place with us!

You decide which areas you’d like to work in and indicate your individual availability.

A little tip: The higher your availability, the more likely it is that you will be able to work mainly in your desired area 😉

The unforgettable experiences, the laughter while working, and the wonderful feeling of being part of something bigger. You’ll meet amazing people, gain valuable experience, and enjoy the unique event atmosphere up close – no matter which area you help out in.

Do I get meals during my shift(s)?

Yes, you will of course receive food from us during your shift, and there is also a snack buffet available at all times so that your sugar level never reaches a dangerous level!

How do I get to the event?

The event area is on the Landestheatervorplatz in Innsbruck. The venue is very easy to reach by bus, train and bike.

As a volunteer, will I have an allocated parking space?

No, parking around the event site is limited, so all volunteers and visitors are advised to use public transport to get to the event site.

As a volunteer, will you provide me with accomodation?

No, volunteers who are travelling internationally or do not live within commuting distance must find their own accommodation. However, if you need help finding accommodation, you are of course welcome to contact us.

Where can I register to become a volunteer?

By registering through the registration form, your application as a volunteer has been received. The more precisely you describe yourself as a person, your preferred area of work, and your available time slots, the better we can assign tasks to you and determine your exact working hours. We will get back to you with your potential tasks and areas of responsibility, and together we will decide when and in which positions you can assist. Please communicate any changes to your schedule by email to info@laufwerkstatt.at as soon as they might affect your shifts for the event.

How can I change the information I provided?

If your email address or other personal details have changed, please send an email to info@laufwerkstatt.at and we will update your details. Unfortunately, the categorisation of your favourite fields of application can no longer be changed after your final allocation.

Is there a minimum wage for volunteering?

The minimum age for volunteers is 16 years. However, until the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign a consent form.

As a volunteer, do I have to speak German or English?

You should have very good German or English language skills. As a volunteer, you will be both a helper and a point of contact for many different people at the event, so you need to be able to communicate effectively. Depending on the area of assignment, strong German skills in both spoken and written form and an additional foreign language can also be an advantage.

What happens once I have signed up as a volunteer?

Once you have filled out the registration form, your application as a volunteer will be received. The more precisely you describe yourself, your preferred area of work, and your availability, the better we can assign tasks to you and determine your exact shifts. We will then get back to you with potential tasks, times, and shifts, and together we will decide which positions you will take on. From that point on, we will keep you updated on briefings, training, changes, and adjustments so that you are always informed and don’t miss your assignments.

What should my availability be?

Depending on the area of assignment, there are different time periods during which you should be available. Of course, it is important that you are available for the times you are assigned. The areas of assignment will be allocated to applicants based on their availability and flexibility. Please always communicate any changes to your schedule as soon as they might affect your shifts for the event.

Where can I get information regarding my area of application as well as my shift?

By registering through the registration form, your application as a volunteer has been received. The more precisely you describe yourself, your preferred area of work, and your availability, the better we can assign tasks to you and determine your exact working hours. Rest assured that we will find a suitable task for everyone, explain your areas of assignment, and provide you with briefings. However, please understand that your exact shifts can only be finalized a few weeks before the event.

Will my entire shift(s) be outdoors?

Depending on your area of assignment, you will primarily be working outdoors or in a tent. A designated tent or room will be available for you to use during your breaks.

How long does a shift last?

Volunteer shifts last between 4 and 10 hours, with at least one break and often several breaks spread throughout the day. A detailed shift schedule will be provided to you a few weeks before the event.

I can't be there after all, where should I let someone know?

If you need to change your area of assignment or unfortunately have to cancel, please contact us at info@laufwerkstatt.at, and we will do our best to find a replacement for you as quickly as possible.
